Judge Refuses To Dismiss Suit Against DCF In Death

A judge refused to dismiss a lawsuit filed against five Department of Children & Families employees accused of failing to monitor a foster home where a 17-month-old girl was drowned and her brother abused. In denying a motion to dismiss, U.S. District Judge Harvey Schlesinger said the state child abuse workers "stuck their heads in the sand" when they put the siblings in the overcrowded Jacksonville foster home.
Guilt Widely Shared in Adoption Tragedy

The trial of Denise C. Moore, the caseworker who placed the 4-year-old boy and his twin sister with a couple who caused his death through neglect, brought home two convictions. Moore was found guilty of obstruction of justice for failing to report the couples' record of criminal violence prior to the placement.
Adoption, Reality Television Do Not Mix

"Who’s Your Daddy?" The question alone has a derogatory connotation. But turn it into reality television and suddenly millions of people are tuning into this media mockery of adopted children looking for their birth parents. It’s a bit sick and truly offensive if you ask me.
